Road Position

Purpose

To test your ability to place the vehicle in the correct road position at all times

Types of errors you can make

CDE - NCDE - SRDE

It is a critical driving error (cde) and therefore the test will be terminated ahead of time if you for example

Take in inappropriate course whilst traveling, creating a dangerous or potentially dangerous situation
Unlawfully overtake on the left of another vehicle
Fail to keep left in a one lane road allowing another vehicle to overtake you on the nearside
Drive unnecessarily on the incorrect side of the road

You get allocated one non critical driving error (NCDE) if you for example

Fail to stay within your driving land
Fail to keep left, where practicable
Unnecessarily on the incorrect side of the road

You get allocated one non critical driving error (NCDE) if you for example

Fail to stay within your driving lane
Fail to keep left, where  practicable
Unnecessarily drive in a lane other than the left lane
Stop illegally at the side of the road

All non critical driving errors count also as SRDE (your fail if you repeat a particular error six times)

TIP

Drive at the center or to the left of your driving lane.  It might just save your life one day.  Two way roads are split in equal half's, so stay on your side, after all you don't want anyone driving on your side, do you?
